Why did you start playing?: When I started my job at Squarespace I was invited to one of the Competitive Clash tournaments by my co-worker Dylan L. I took a couple of hours off work and said I'd go before I even asked was Killer Queen was haha. So my first time playing was at a tournament where I got slaughtered.

Why'd you stay?: The people are amazing! I love our community of mismatched misfits. I love that I always have people that are better than me to play with so I can continue improving my play as well.

Why did you start playing?: Scott got me to start playing and I've been coming weekly ever since! I had played it once before, but having someone explain it to me made all the difference on having a good time.

Why'd you stay?: Every player makes a difference, so whether I'm slaying queens or putting berries in the hole, winning gives me a sense of community. Bee game is highly satisfying 10/10 would bee again.

Why did you start playing?: Had no friends since moving to Portland, went to Ground Kontrol one Friday on a whim. Got lucky, and it was a PDX bee's birthday so everyone was out playing. Got shoved into the cab and someone yelled through me excitedly, I immediately fell in love, been playing ever since <3.

Why'd you stay?: The community is incredible, the game is stupidly addicting, and I immediately gained a plethora of wonderful friends.

Why'd you stay?: The people involved in the scene here in Portland are amazing. When I was a new player that just enjoyed playing the game, many people offered tips and helped improve my gameplay to the fraud level I'm at now. After playing the game a couple of months, meeting up to play became much more than that and became a night of hanging out with rad people. The game is still fun, but if it weren't for all the amazing people I've met through this game I definitely wouldn't still be playing.

Why did you start playing?: Myself and others were taking one of my best friends out for his bachelor party. They hadn't played before and it happened to be the Portland scene's league night. My friends and I were all invited to play with everyone. I was told about this group by Javan, and now here I am.

Why'd you stay?: I like the community that this game encourages, and seeing the more veteran players in the group interact with each other reminds me of my group of friends that I don't get to see as much since I moved up here a few years ago. It also helps me unwind during a long work week. And lets not forget how much fun the game is!

Why Did You Start Playing?: The very first time I played was on my birthday in 2015. I was with two friends at Ground Control and saw a game we could all play together. After that I would visit GK regularly and swing my drunken self over to the cab every now and then to mess with loudmouths that were boasting about their so-called "skills" to other players. I consider my real start on the game to be in 2017, when I started meeting with the local community and started learning the subtle ins and outs of the game and play it seriously.

Why Did You Stay?: It started with my competitive drive, I felt a game like this will grow in exposure and I wanted to place myself in the hall of Titans. That still is true, but is now overshadowed by my fondness for the PDX community and the awesome players I've come to know and love.

Why'd you stay?: I'd say it is for the game but tbkqh the game should burn in a dumpster fire. I stay for the community. I love all my bees. Though they are all garbage people for playing this trash game. In all seriousness the game is awesome and the people are amazing. Please come play.
